About Robert

Robert Benson joined WBA Law as an articling student in 1978, became an associate in 1979 and joined the partnership in 1983. His practice covers corporate and commercial law, real estate transactions and wills and estates, along with sports, aviation and non-profit law. He advises on corporate governance, contracts, commercial leases, financings, real estate transactions and estate matters for clients including privately held businesses, lenders, educational institutions, sports franchises, aircraft leasing companies and non-profit organizations. Since 1992 he has acted as counsel to the Alberta New Home Warranty Program, handling construction completion matters, builders' liens and builder insolvency, and since 2004 he has acted as counsel to the Western Hockey League on league governance and franchise matters.
