About Rishi

Rishi Gill is the senior lawyer and principal of RTG Law Group, with roots in Vancouver going back to his grandfather's arrival in 1906. He completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Victoria's Faculty of Law from 1992 to 1996, after undergraduate studies in political science and government at the University of British Columbia, and completed a term at the UVic Law Centre Legal Clinic as a student. After being called to the Bar of British Columbia, he worked as a commercial litigator for a major Canadian corporation before being called to the Bar of Ontario as well. He then moved into criminal law, first as Crown Counsel prosecuting narcotics offences before switching to criminal defence, and has since handled a range of cases including several high-profile matters in British Columbia. He is active in the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of British Columbia, the National Association of Criminal Defence Lawyers, and the British Columbia Civil Liberties Association, completed a term as prosecuting counsel with the BC Securities Commission, and has supervised at the UBC First Nations Legal Clinic.
