About Richard
Richard Niman is a founding partner at Niman Mamo LLP, where his practice is devoted entirely to family law. He was called to the bar in 2011 and has handled trials and appeals at every level of court in Ontario, along with numerous family law arbitrations and mediations. He articled at one of Canada's most distinguished criminal law firms, then expanded into regulatory work, professional discipline and civil litigation at a Toronto boutique, before joining Niman Gelgoot and Associates LLP in 2014, where his focus on family law took root. He has co-chaired continuing legal education programs and taught at Osgoode Hall's Family Skills and Practice program, and serves as an associate editor of Evidence in Family Law. He co-authored the Family Law chapter of a leading text on Canadian pleadings precedents. For law school, he enrolled in a dual-degree program combining the University of Ottawa with Michigan State University College of Law, and he is a member of the Advocates' Society.
