About Richard
Richard E. Harrison is a litigator with a focus on environmental conservation and general litigation, acting for landowners, environmental groups, and conservationists on wetland preservation, large-scale landscape conservation, and development opposition matters, as well as for Hutterite Colonies seeking environmentally sound development. His advocacy has taken him before all Alberta courts, the Federal Court of Canada, and tribunals including the Environmental Appeals Board, the Land and Property Rights Tribunal, and the Alberta Energy Regulator. As a civil litigator, Richard frequently acts as a custodian on behalf of the Law Society of Alberta, and his practice also covers debt collection, fraudulent conveyances, defamation, fraud, and employment law. He teaches Administrative Law at the University of Calgary and was formerly a faculty member with the Legal Education Society of Alberta. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary in 2013 and two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one with honours, from the same school in 2009, and was called to the Alberta bar in 2014.
