About Richard

Richard Auger is the owner of Auger Hollingsworth. About seven years into his career, he came to national attention in 2004 representing a key witness at the Gomery Commission into the federal sponsorship scandal, having worked two years earlier on the Toronto Computer Leasing Inquiry. He later represented Karlheinz Schreiber in the 2009 Mulroney-Schreiber Oliphant Public Inquiry. He was called to the bar in 1997 and worked at McCarthy Tetrault and at Edward Greenspan, Q.C. and Partners before founding Auger Hollingsworth. His practice combines criminal and civil litigation, and he has been quoted or interviewed by CTV, The Globe and Mail, the Ottawa Citizen, the National Post, the Toronto Star and the Montreal Gazette. He received the Ottawa Business Journal's Forty Under 40 award in 2006 and has taught Trial Advocacy at the University of Ottawa's law school, where he also coaches the Arnup Trial Advocacy team.
