About Auger Hollingsworth Accident & Injury Lawyers
One of the highest-rated law firms in Toronto, going by its Google reviews.
Auger Hollingsworth Accident & Injury Lawyers is a personal injury firm headquartered in Ottawa, with satellite offices in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, and Barrie. Richard Auger founded the firm in 2004, starting out with a single client file in shared office space. Brenda Hollingsworth, a litigation and personal injury lawyer, joined as an equal partner the following year. The firm has since grown to about ten lawyers who handle car, truck, pedestrian, and bicycle accident claims, slip and fall cases, brain and spinal cord injury, long term disability claims, and wrongful death, all on a contingency basis so clients don't pay unless the firm wins or settles their case.
Before turning to injury law, Auger built a reputation in Ottawa's legal community, representing a witness at the Gomery Commission's 2004 inquiry into the federal sponsorship scandal and working on the Computer Leasing Inquiry in Toronto. Auger was called to the bar in 1997 after degrees from Carleton University and the University of Ottawa, and later taught Trial Advocacy at the University of Ottawa law school. The firm's Toronto office, opened in 2023, is in the Canada Permanent Trust Building on Bay Street.

The Toronto office is a satellite of the Ottawa headquartered firm, not its base, but it sits in a notable spot: 320 Bay Street, in downtown Toronto, inside the building long known as the Canada Permanent Trust Building. Built between 1928 and 1930 as the head office of the Canada Permanent trust company, the Art Deco tower has been designated a heritage property under the Ontario Heritage Act since 1975. It was restored in 2021 and is now marketed as The Permanent.
Auger Hollingsworth moved into the building in 2023, putting a downtown office among Bay Street's cluster of financial and legal firms within reach of Toronto and GTA clients, while the firm's larger team and main office stay in Ottawa.
