Auger Hollingsworth Accident & Injury Lawyers acts for people hurt in car, truck and bicycle crashes and slip and falls, for families after a wrongful death, and for people whose long-term disability claims have been turned down. Richard Auger and Brenda Hollingsworth have been representing injured clients since 2004, and the firm has since grown into a team of 42 professionals.
Richard Auger was called to the bar in 1997 and worked at McCarthy Tétrault and with Edward Greenspan, Q.C. and Partners before launching the firm. In 2004 Auger acted for a key witness before the Gomery Commission on the federal sponsorship scandal, and in 2009 represented Karlheinz Schreiber at the Mulroney-Schreiber Oliphant Public Inquiry.
Hollingsworth, a lawyer since 1997, built litigation experience at a Bay Street firm and then handled injury and class action files for both plaintiffs and defendants at a Toronto firm. Hollingsworth now leads the firm's personal injury practice, and also spent three years on the eight-member Federal Judicial Advisory Committee assessing candidates for the federal bench.

By 2006 the firm was working from Suite 600 at 200 Elgin in downtown Ottawa, and its practice took in criminal charges, employment disputes such as wrongful dismissal, severance and non-competition agreements, civil and business litigation, class actions, and public law matters from public inquiries and licensing to human rights complaints, for individuals as well as small and large businesses.
One major early project was pro bono. When Ontario decided to close the Rideau Regional Centre, the firm represented about 150 families with developmentally challenged loved ones living at the centre, and Hollingsworth sought an injunction to halt the closure until the families had been heard. In 2005 the firm also donated pro bono legal fees to support residents seeking fair treatment from the province.
Motor vehicle work covers both the claim against the at-fault driver and the accident benefits claim, including cases heard at the Licence Appeal Tribunal. The firm's truck crash work includes collisions with Amazon, FedEx, Purolator and UPS vehicles.
Slip and fall and trip and fall injuries are handled as a separate fee category from motor vehicle files. Fall claims include incidents at stores such as Costco, Dollarama, Home Depot and Walmart.
