About Rebecca

Rebecca Stanley is a family lawyer, certified family mediator, and former judicial law clerk who founded Renovate Family Law & Mediation to offer clients a settlement-focused alternative to adversarial legal processes. She has practiced family law in British Columbia for more than ten years, including at Connect Family Law, RDM Lawyers, and Alexander Holburn LLP. Before entering private practice, she clerked at the BC Supreme Court, supporting six judges and overseeing family law projects across the court. Before law, she worked as a chaplain at UBC, and her training in family systems continues to inform her approach to separating couples and co-parents. She holds a Juris Doctor from the Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia and is a Certified Family Mediator with the Law Society of BC, with a Certified Family Arbitrator designation pending. She is active with MediateBC, Family Mediation Canada, and several collaborative practice organizations.
