About Raj
Raj Sharma is the founder and managing partner of Stewart Sharma Harsanyi and has practiced immigration law for about 20 years. He clerked at the Alberta Court of Appeal, articled with the federal Department of Justice, and later worked as an Immigration Refugee Protection Officer before entering private practice. He has appeared at every level of court in Alberta, before the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal, and before every division of the Immigration and Refugee Board, and has more than 200 reported decisions. He was appointed King's Counsel in 2022 and has taught immigration and refugee law as an adjunct professor at the University of Calgary and as an instructor at Queen's University. He has appeared before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration and co-authored the book Inadmissibility and Remedies with Aris Daghighian.
