About John

John Anderson is Senior Counsel at Paramount Law Group, with a general practice spanning civil litigation, family law, criminal law, municipal law, wills and estates, business, real estate, and administrative law. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, he has lived in Alberta for over four decades. He earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History and Political Studies from the University of Guelph in 1975, a Master of Arts in History from the University of Alberta in 1977, and a Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University in 1982. He articled in Lethbridge, Alberta and was called to the Alberta Bar in June 1983, later working in private practice and at the City of Calgary Law Department. He has taught adult distance education courses in commercial, administrative, and local government law at Athabasca University for over three decades, and was the original drafter of Alberta's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
