About Katie

Katie Olson is an associate at DD West LLP. She was called to the bar in 2021 and holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba (2020) and a B.A. from the University of Manitoba (2016). She advises employers and unions on workplace matters including discipline, terminations, policies, contracts, and human rights issues, and has represented clients before Manitoba courts, tribunals, and the Federal Court. She was part of the legal team representing CFS agencies and children in care in a class action that resulted in a $530-million settlement in Manitoba. She received the Paul Teskey Memorial Prize for the highest combined average in Labour-Management Relations and Mediation in 2020, and is a board member of the Community Legal Education Association and a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Manitoba Bar Association.
