About Rachel
Rachel Prestayko practises exclusively in construction law at Kennaley Construction Law, acting for owners, contractors, subcontractors, and design professionals and consultants. Beyond traditional lien and litigation claims, the practice includes adjudications under the Construction Act and alternative dispute resolution such as negotiation, arbitration, and mediation. Rachel previously worked in commercial litigation at multinational and regional firms. Before becoming a lawyer, Rachel worked as a chemist in the tech sector, co-authoring a paper published in the journal Nanotechnology and co-inventing nine patents. Education includes a J.D. from the University of Ottawa (2019) and a Bachelor of Science (Honours Co-op) from McMaster University (2015); Rachel was called to the Ontario bar in 2020. Memberships include several construction and legal associations, and Rachel is an avid curler.
