About Rachel

Rachel Nicholson is a member of Thornton Grout Finnigan's Restructuring and Insolvency team, advising clients in distressed situations on complex proceedings under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. Her work includes enforcing creditors' rights and security, assisting debtors with in- and out-of-court workouts, distressed investing, and acting for court-appointed monitors and receivers, with particular depth in cross-border and US matters. Chambers and Partners has described her as superb, practical, and strategic. Rachel is active in the insolvency community, having served on committees of the Turnaround Management Association's Toronto chapter and as a director with the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation's Ontario Network. She was recognized in the American Bankruptcy Institute's 40 Under 40 program and has appeared in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Canada for insolvency and financial restructuring.
