R.W. Howard Lightle grew up primarily on Canada's East Coast and graduated from Mount St. Vincent University in Halifax with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy, with distinction. He obtained his law degree from Queen's University in 1995 and was called to the bar in 1997, becoming a partner at a large Northeastern Ontario firm in 2000 before joining Orendorff and Associates in 2022. He has conducted numerous jury and judge-alone trials in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and argued appeals at the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Having acted almost exclusively for insurance companies during the first 27 years of his practice, he now brings that experience to plaintiff-side personal injury work involving motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, and dog bites, as well as insured-side disputes over fire, property damage, and disability benefits claims. He served on the board of directors of Canadian Defence Lawyers for 13 years and received an OPP Commissioner's citation for a life-saving rescue at the scene of a motor vehicle accident.
