Nisansala Karunaratne, known as Nis, practices family law, helping clients resolve matters amicably where possible while representing them in litigation when necessary, and she also assists clients with wills, health care directives, and powers of attorney. She is an internationally trained lawyer accredited through the National Committee on Accreditation, with a background in banking and finance in both Sri Lanka and Canada that informs her family, estates, and real estate work. Karunaratne holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Open University of Sri Lanka (2014), a Diploma in Banking and Finance from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (2016), and a Certificate in Investment Funds Canada from the Canadian Securities Institute (2016). She was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2024 and is a member of the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers and the Sri Lankan Association of Manitoba.
