About Pierre

Pierre Bélanger has practised civil and professional liability, health law, construction law, insurance law and disciplinary law since his admission to the Barreau du Québec in 1973. He has represented professionals across many sectors, along with institutions and hospitals, before civil and disciplinary courts up to the Supreme Court of Canada, and is recognized for landmark medical-hospital liability cases including Le Gardeur and Camden-Bourgault that continue to shape Quebec jurisprudence. He has defended professional corporations including the Barreau du Québec and the Ordre des dentistes, and has handled major construction and engineering liability matters. Bélanger holds a licence en droit from the Université de Sherbrooke (1971) and completed part of an MBA there (1980-1982). He belongs to the Canadian Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute and the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys, and is a governor emeritus of the Fondation du Barreau.
