About Peter

Peter Smiley is a partner at BYLDS whose litigation and dispute resolution work spans shareholder and corporate disputes, fraud and breach of trust claims, estates litigation, human rights litigation, product liability and professional negligence defence, leasing disputes, and real property and development conflicts. After graduating from the University of Toronto, he was admitted to the New York Bar and spent two years at a New York firm handling complex commercial litigation and international arbitration for Fortune 500 clients, before returning to Canada to litigate at a large Bay Street firm. He completed his J.D. at the University of Toronto in 2012 and was called to the New York Bar in 2013 and the Ontario bar in 2015.
