About Peter

Peter Ruby is a Goodmans partner whose practice covers litigation and arbitration in technology, energy, corporate, and restructuring disputes. His technology work spans software, artificial intelligence, and telecommunications, along with privacy and cybersecurity matters including data breach response. In the energy sector, he has represented utilities and renewable power developers, and has appeared before the Ontario Energy Board and other regulators. He also handles corporate and commercial disputes involving shareholders, contracts, and acquisitions. Peter has argued cases at every level of Ontario's courts and at the Supreme Court of Canada, and serves as an arbitrator and mediator with Arbitration Place and the AAA's International Center for Dispute Resolution. In 2021, one of his clients honored him with a named dispute resolution award established at Osgoode Hall Law School.
