About Patrick

Patrick Dudding focuses most of his practice at Avize on class actions, along with select complex or catastrophic personal injury claims, sexual misconduct cases, and human rights complaints. Before joining Avize, he practised criminal defence in Toronto and insurance defence in Vancouver before returning to Victoria. His results include the nearly $900-million Canadian Armed Forces sexual misconduct class action settlement, defeating the City of Langford's appeal of a $1-million jury award, and obtaining replacement housing and compensation for residents of Nanaimo's Sanala complex. He earned his JD from the University of Victoria, where he won the Chris Considine Prize for best standing in evidence, and a BA from Carleton University, where he received the Senate Medal for outstanding academic achievement. He's a member of the Law Society of British Columbia.
