About Patricia

Patricia (Pat) Lane is a family law lawyer appointed King's Counsel in 2019, specializing in Collaborative Law and mediation to reduce stress on families going through separation. She practices in property, pension and asset division, child and spousal support, and cohabitation and pre-nuptial agreements, and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1984 and the Ontario Bar in 1992 after earning her LL.B. and B.A. from the University of Alberta. Pat is recognized as an advocate for the 2SLGBTQ+ community and has received numerous awards for her work, including the Canadian Bar Association's SOGIC Ally Award and the University of Alberta Alumni Honour Award. She was named among the Best Lawyers™ in Canada in Family Law since 2012 and co-chairs the firm's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.
