About Oliver
Oliver Gorman-Asal is a Partner who joined Beard Winter's Insurance Litigation group in 2020 after being called to the bar in 2016. He handles insurance defence work centred on statutory accident benefits claims, personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, occupiers' liability, priority disputes and loss transfer, appearing regularly before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Before joining the firm he was in-house counsel at one of Canada's largest insurers and earlier articled at a boutique insurance defence firm in Toronto. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of New Brunswick, where he graduated as valedictorian, volunteered with student legal clinics, and interned at the Court of Appeal.
