About Michelle

Michelle focuses her practice on criminal law, regulatory defence, and constitutional law, with particular emphasis on criminal appeals and extradition matters. She has appeared before every level of court in Ontario, the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, and the British Columbia Supreme Court, as well as an intervener at the Supreme Court of Canada. Chambers Canada currently ranks her an Associate to Watch for crime nationwide. Before joining Fenton Law Barristers, she worked as an associate at a boutique Toronto criminal firm, clerked at the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and articled with an Ottawa criminal defence firm. She earned her J.D. summa cum laude from the University of Ottawa in 2016 and holds a Bachelor of Music from Wilfrid Laurier University. Michelle currently serves as Toronto Women's Director of the Criminal Lawyers' Association and sits on the Court of Appeal's duty counsel roster.
