About Michelle

Michelle L. Wassenaar founded Method Law in 2012 and serves as its Director, a Canadian lawyer, patent agent, and trademark agent. She advises multinational, international, and domestic companies on patent, trademark, industrial design, and copyright matters, particularly in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, mechanical, construction, financial, and consumer goods industries, and manages international portfolios through a network of foreign counsel. Michelle has represented clients before the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Trademarks Opposition Board, as well as in ICANN domain name disputes before WIPO and The Forum. She was called to the Ontario bar in 1994 and holds a J.D., an M.Sc. in clinical biochemistry, and a B.Sc. in biochemistry and microbiology from the University of Toronto, along with an ICD.D designation. She currently chairs the Board of Directors of DUCA credit union.
