About Michel

Michel Chartier joined Monk Goodwin LLP in 2016, practising in litigation, real estate, and wills and estates. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from the University of Manitoba (Collège universitaire de Saint-Boniface) in 1987 and a Bachelor of Law from the Université de Moncton in 1990, completing his articles with Monk Goodwin before his call to the Manitoba Bar in 1991. Before returning to private practice, he served as a judge on the Provincial Court of Manitoba from 2007 to 2016, including as Associate Chief Judge from 2009 to 2013. His earlier practice focused on insolvency, commercial, and general litigation, including receiverships, priority disputes, and construction lien matters. Michel offers his services in both English and French.
