About Janet

Janet Jardine was raised mainly in Winnipeg, with several childhood years spent in Dauphin, Manitoba. She entered the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Law in 1982, graduated with her LL.B. in 1985, and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1986. Her practice centres on civil litigation, covering commercial disputes, breach of contract, and personal injury matters, along with labour and employment work including labour board matters and wrongful dismissal suits, plus administrative law and wills and estates, including estate litigation. While in law school she co-authored a Law Society of Manitoba handbook called Evidence in a Nutshell, and she practised briefly in Vancouver with the boutique insurance firm Stewart & Company in 2002 and 2003. Janet has appeared at all levels of court in Manitoba, as well as in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Supreme Court of the Northwest Territories, and the Federal Court of Canada.
