About Michael

Michael Tavernese is an associate in KMB Law's Commercial Real Estate Group, where his work covers commercial purchases and sales, land development, secured lending and commercial leasing. He helps clients with acquiring and selling commercial properties, drafting and negotiating leases, and handling financing matters. Before law school, he spent time at a large firm that manages real estate, where he gained exposure to acquiring commercial properties and handling leasing matters, giving him a practical, business-minded approach to legal work. Michael holds a JD from Queen's University, 2024, where he co-led the Queen's Law Golf Club and took part in the Queen's Real Estate Law Association and the Queen's Commerce and Law Association. He also has a Bachelor of Commerce from the Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2025.
