About Michael

Michael O'Rourke practises both Canadian and U.S. immigration law for corporate and individual clients. On the Canadian side, that practice covers intra-company transfers, CUSMA and other free trade work permits, Labour Market Impact Assessments, and permanent residence applications through Express Entry, and includes guiding clients through the Start-Up Visa Program. The U.S. work includes green card and naturalization filings, treaty trader and investor company registrations, L-1 transfers, and H-1B and TN visa applications, along with helping clients abandon permanent resident status or renounce citizenship. Michael earned a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1998 and holds bar admissions in Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Ontario, and British Columbia. Michael previously chaired the Canada chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and speaks English, French, German, and Spanish.
