About Michael
Michael Allen was called to the Ontario bar in 1987 and has practised labour and employment law ever since, representing employers in the courts and before tribunals, including grievance arbitrations, for more than 35 years. He joined Bass Associates in 1995 and serves clients across sectors such as health care, advertising, and trucking, acting as spokesperson in collective bargaining, including interest arbitration in health care and children's mental health. For the past decade he has been lead counsel for a group of 250 nursing homes at the Pay Equity Hearings Tribunal, and he has also worked with employers and unions to develop and maintain pay equity plans. Michael has taught courses on negotiation at the University of Toronto and holds an honours undergraduate degree from Queen's University and an LLB from the University of Windsor. He is bilingual in English and French.
