Principal, Cozen O'Connor Public Strategies at Cozen O'Connor
Michael Acevedo has 14 years of policy experience covering consumer, retail, health, and labor issues, gained while working for several members of the New Jersey Legislature. His clients draw on his deep familiarity with the state's legislative process and his skill at building coalitions behind legislative initiatives. Before joining Cozen O'Connor, he served as chief of staff for New Jersey's 4th legislative district office, supporting Senator Fred H. Madden as chair of the Senate Labor Committee, Assemblyman Paul D. Moriarty as chair of the Assembly Consumer Affairs Committee, and Assemblywoman Gabriela M. Mosquera. In that role he managed a staff of eight and helped guide bills from introduction to final passage, while regularly liaising with the Governor's Office, state agencies, public interest groups, and community leaders. He spent ten years on the Gloucester Township zoning board, giving him a solid grasp of zoning rules, land use planning, and the value of community engagement and coalition building in local politics. Michael holds a B.A. from Rowan University, earned magna cum laude, and an M.P.A. from Rutgers University.
