About Mia

Mia joined Wishart Law Firm as an associate lawyer in 2017 and practices mainly in municipal law, advising municipalities across Ontario on by-law enforcement, municipal prosecutions, tax sales, and freedom of information matters. She has prosecuted offences under the Highway Traffic Act, the Building Code Act, the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, and the Trespass to Property Act, and has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Divisional Court, and various tribunals. Mia earned her Juris Doctor in 2015, after completing an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at Algoma University and a Certificate in Human Resource Practices at Sault College. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2017. Outside of practice, Mia serves as a director on the boards of the Sault Area Hospital and Child Care Algoma, and as treasurer of the Algoma District Law Association.
