About Larry
Larry D. Peterson is a lawyer at Peterson & Peterson, a firm his grandfather Nolton H. Peterson founded in Bruce Mines in 1899 and that his father, Harold D. Peterson, later practised under before becoming a provincial judge. Larry earned a B.A. from Laurentian University in 1970, studied a year toward a Bachelor of Divinity, and completed an LL.B. at Queen's University in 1974, before being called to the bar in 1976. He articled with his father and later with the firm Wishart, Noble, Nori, where he managed the Wawa office. In 1977 he took over the Peterson & Peterson practice in Bruce Mines, then opened the Blind River office in 1978 and the Sault Ste. Marie office in 1979. He belongs to the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Algoma District Law Association, and has been active locally as secretary of the Bruce Mines & District Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Bruce Mines & District Historical Society, and a past director of the Victorian Order of Nurses.
