About Melanie

Melanie is an associate in Torkin's Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group, maintaining a general litigation practice across commercial and civil disputes. At a previous litigation boutique she advised clients on contractual disputes, franchise litigation, defamation, and shareholder disputes, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in automotive, construction, and insurance matters. She articled at the Ministry of the Attorney General and clerked at the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal before joining the firm. Melanie holds a JD from the University of Toronto, an MA from McMaster University, and a BA from the University of Toronto, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2021. She belongs to the Ontario Bar Association, the Advocates' Society, and the Toronto Lawyers Association.
