About Maya
Maya Shukairy is a criminal defence lawyer practising in Ottawa and serving the city's East region, including Cornwall, L'Orignal, Pembroke, and Alexandria. She began her legal career as an Assistant Crown Attorney, which she says gave her a close understanding of the Crown's and police's work before she moved into defence practice. She holds a B.Sc. from McGill University and an LL.B. and J.D. from Université de Montréal, and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Criminal Lawyers' Association, and the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa. Shukairy is trilingual and offers her services in English, French, and Arabic, and accepts Legal Aid certificates.
