About Matt
Matt was born in Newfoundland and has lived in several Ontario communities, including Toronto, Hamilton, Windsor, London and Ottawa, before returning to the Kingston area where he has family ties. He earned an honours degree in history from the University of Western Ontario before attending Queen's University to study law. After his call to the bar, he practiced for several years in Kitchener-Waterloo before co-founding Hodgson Sinnett in 2000. Matt is a retired Navigation Officer in the Canadian Naval Reserve and a past President of the Kingston Criminal Defence Lawyers Association, and previously served as the Kingston area director for the Criminal Lawyers Association of Ontario.
