Administrative & Regulatory LawMark is the founder of Knox Law and a veteran criminal defence and civil litigation lawyer with over three decades of experience at Nova Scotia's Bar. He has appeared regularly at all levels of court in the province, in other Canadian jurisdictions, and in Federal Court, and has experience appearing before regulatory bodies and as public inquiry counsel. Mark practises across criminal defence, including investigations, bail, trials, and appeals, as well as civil claims against correctional services, institutional abuse claims, and select personal injury and civil litigation matters. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, past chair of its Nova Scotia Criminal Law Section, and a director of the Canadian Council of Criminal Defence Lawyers, and has served as president of both the Canadian Prison Law Association and the Seven Step Society of Canada. Mark received his Queen's Counsel (now King's Counsel) designation in 2014, the Schulich School of Law's Weldon Award for Unselfish Public Service in 2018, and the Tommy Gordon National Freedom Award in 2022.
