About Marisa

Marisa Feil is the supervising attorney and partner at FWCanada, an immigration law firm focused on criminal inadmissibility to Canada. She has practised law since 2008 and is a member of both the Canadian Bar Association and the Barreau du Québec. Feil earned a bachelor's degree at McGill University and graduated from the joint Common and Civil Law programs at the Université de Montréal, later writing her Master of Laws thesis on medical inadmissibility to Canada in 2012. She specializes in inadmissibility arising from DUI and other convictions and has addressed audiences of criminal defence attorneys in California, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New York, Utah, and Nevada, as well as presenting continuing legal education webinars with Thomson Reuters West LegalEdcenter. She liaises regularly with federal and provincial immigration offices on behalf of her clients and has contributed to published works on the consequences of DUI convictions for entry to Canada.
