About Mariko

Mariko Maya Khan is a partner at Sheahan LLP who drafts environmental contracts, carries out environmental due diligence, and advises clients on large industrial and commercial developments. She represents clients contesting monetary administrative penalties and advises on civil, administrative and penal litigation related to the environment, with particular expertise in mining, pulp and paper, extended producer responsibility, contaminated-site restoration, and the regulation of GHG emissions and noise. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science from McGill University in 2006, an LL.B. from the Université de Montréal in 2009 and a J.D. in common law from the Université de Montréal in 2012, and was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 2010. She is a former president of the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Section of the Canadian Bar Association's Quebec division.
