About Maria
Maria Guirguis joined the litigation group at O'Connor MacLeod Hanna LLP after completing her articles at the firm and was called to the Ontario bar in 2024. She earned her undergraduate degree in political science and criminology, with honours, from the University of Toronto, then completed her J.D. at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, where she worked as a teaching assistant in administrative law and was active with the Business Law Society. She approaches litigation with an awareness that disputes can be emotionally and financially taxing for clients, aiming to give them a realistic, upfront sense of what their matter requires. Maria is fluent in Arabic and takes cultural context into account when advising clients.
