Insurance LawLyle co-founded Harris & Brun in 1984 with Robert C. Brun and was called to the British Columbia bar in 1976, practicing continuously since then in motor vehicle, personal injury, insurance, and occupiers' liability litigation for plaintiffs, insured defendants, and insurance companies. He is the original author of the CLEBC practice manual Discovery Practice in British Columbia, first published in 2009, and continues to co-author its annual updates with Jennifer Brun. From 2000 to 2001 he served as compensation counsel for Thomas Sophonow in the Manitoba Commission of Inquiry into Sophonow's wrongful murder conviction, which led to a recommendation of $2.66 million in compensation. Lyle has been recognized by CLEBC as a prolific contributor to legal education and by Best Lawyers as among the best lawyers in British Columbia.
