About Lumi
Lumi Pungea is a partner with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP's Labour & Employment Law and Disability Law practice groups, representing clients across Ontario from the firm's Toronto and Ottawa offices. She advises individuals, businesses, and non-profits on wrongful and constructive dismissals, employment contracts, severance negotiations, long-term disability claims, and workplace discrimination and harassment. Lumi takes a pragmatic approach aimed at resolving claims cost-efficiently while advocating strongly for her clients. Before joining the firm she worked as a supervisor at Western Law's Community Legal Services, and she received the Morris Kroll Memorial Award in 2011 for her community engagement in the administration of law. She holds a J.D. from the University of Western Ontario along with master's degrees in Political Science and Communication from the University of Bucharest and Ohio State University, and speaks English, French, and Romanian.
