About Lorne

Lorne MacLean, KC, founded MacLean Law and has practiced family law since 1983, focusing on high net worth and complex divorce matters including property division, custody, and spousal and child support. He co-authored the Chambers and Partners Family Law Guide Canada and is a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers and the Litigation Counsel of America. Lorne has argued two cases before the Supreme Court of Canada: Young v. Young, still the leading Canadian case on child custody and the maximum contact principle, and Leskun v. Leskun, which set out key principles for reviewing spousal support. He and his firm work with high net worth and international family offices on cross-border divorce and asset protection matters.
