About Lorenze

Lorenze Cromwell is a firm associate at MacKillop Pictou Law Group with a general practice focused on criminal law, administrative and human rights law, and appellate advocacy. An eighth-generation African Nova Scotian from Dartmouth, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Saint Mary's University in 2019 and his law degree from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in 2025, completing his articles at the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal. Lorenze previously worked as a Restorative Justice Caseworker and Community Outreach Worker and as a senior law student at the Dalhousie Legal Aid Service. During his final year of law school, he researched African Nova Scotian legal history for the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society, served as President of the Dalhousie Black Law Students' Association, and published award-winning legal research in the Dalhousie Law Journal.
