About Lisa

Lisa Leinveer advocates for people facing legal issues that arise after the death or incapacity of a loved one, including guardianship, power of attorney disputes and will challenges. She also represents allegedly incapable persons, has acted as section 3 counsel, and has been appointed amicus curiae on numerous occasions, with a focus on trauma-informed service. Lisa is also a dedicated advocate for survivors of sexual violence and child abuse, frequently representing complainants in criminal proceedings, including pre-trial applications concerning third-party records and prior sexual activity evidence. She appears regularly before the Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice, the Consent and Capacity Board and the Ontario Review Board, and has advocated at the Court of Appeal. She holds a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School and an MA in Women's Studies and Feminist Research from Western University, and previously practiced at a boutique firm specializing in estate and trust litigation and human rights law.
