About Alexander
Alexander Procope is a partner at PBP Lawyers focusing on capacity, guardianship, power of attorney and estate matters. He often acts as counsel for allegedly incapable persons in capacity disputes and represents estate trustees, beneficiaries and litigation guardians in estate litigation. He also works as a mediator, having completed an alternative dispute resolution workshop offered by the Sitt Feld Handy Group, and follows the Elder Mediation International Network's code of ethics. Alex has served the Ontario Bar Association's Elder Law Section and as a member-at-large of its Trusts and Estates Section, and sits on the Mental Health Legal Committee. In 2022 he received the OBA's Hoffstein Book Prize for his work in wills, trusts and estates, and he has since been listed in Best Lawyers Ones to Watch and ranked in Chambers and Partners' High Net Worth Guide. He co-directs the OsgoodePD Certificate of Elder Law Program and teaches a Mental Health Law course together with a colleague at Windsor's law school. He earned an honours degree in philosophy and history from the University of Toronto in 2003, completed his law degree at the University of Windsor in 2006, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2007.
