About Les

Les Armitstead was a lawyer at Linley Welwood who practised in Abbotsford from his call to the bar in 1984 until his death. He specialized in construction and business disputes and was involved in significant construction-law decisions, including the contractual-certainty case Rafal v. Legaspi (2007 BCSC 1944). He contributed to the Builders Lien Act Reform Committee and was known for mentoring peers and younger lawyers. Armitstead celebrated the 40th anniversary of his call to the bar on July 10, 2024, and passed away on November 14, 2024, due to ALS.
