About Kris

Kris Saxberg is General Counsel at Trippier Law and has practiced civil litigation in Manitoba since 1999. He was formerly a managing partner of D'Arcy & Deacon LLP and co-founded Cochrane Saxberg LLP, now Cochrane Sinclair. He successfully argued a case striking down provincial legislation that wrongfully claimed Children's Special Allowance benefits from children in provincial care, resulting in a $530 million class action settlement approved in 2024, and conducted a fourteen-week pension trial that produced a $140 million judgment against MTS, later upheld by the Supreme Court of Canada. He has acted for numerous Indigenous organizations and advocacy groups and is long-time labour counsel for TEAM-IFTPE Local 161. He has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Alberta Court of Appeal, and various administrative and regulatory tribunals in Manitoba.
