About Kirsten

Kirsten Madsen has more than 30 years of experience in litigation and mediation, focusing on family law and collaborative divorce. Before joining Park Place Law, she was a partner at Paine Edmonds LLP in Vancouver, where she also handled personal injury claims and founded the firm's family law practice group. She obtained her law degree from UBC in 1990 and was called to the bar in 1991, becoming the youngest practising lawyer in BC at the time. Kirsten has served on the Executive of the Trial Lawyers' Association of BC and as past Chair of the Insurance Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association's BC Branch, and has lectured at Simon Fraser University, Capilano University, and the Continuing Education Society of BC. She holds the BV rating for legal ability and ethical standards in the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings System, and has volunteered as a director for the Developmental Disabilities Association of BC and as legal counsel for the MS Society of British Columbia.
