About Kelly-Anne

Kelly-Anne Johnson is a criminal trial lawyer at Edward H. Royle & Partners who focuses on protecting clients' rights through vigorous advocacy. Before joining the firm, she clerked for judges as an articling student at the Superior Court of Justice's Barrie location, and earlier worked as a summer student in the Crown Attorney's office, which gave her insight into both prosecution and judicial decision-making. She holds an Honours BA in Criminology and Political Science from the University of Toronto and finished her law degree at the University of Windsor in 2024, where she won the course prize for Access to Justice. During law school, she volunteered for three years with Community Legal Aid, taking on roles as a caseworker and litigator, and also supported the Migrant Farmworkers Clinic's advocacy work for migrant workers in Ontario. She belongs to the Criminal Lawyers' Association and the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers.
