About Katy

Katy has a varied litigation practice with a particular focus on insurance-related cases, and has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal, as well as administrative tribunals such as the Licence Appeal Tribunal and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. She joined Buset LLP as a first-year law student in 2013, became an associate in 2016, and joined the partnership in 2022. Katy is a graduate of the charter class at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, where she competed in the Wilson Moot and served as Editor in Chief of the Lakehead Law Journal, and has since returned as a clinical instructor in the school's Civil Practice course. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Bar Association, having been elected to its leadership in 2023, and previously served as president of Magnus Theatre.
