About Katherine

Katherine (Kate) Nelson practises primarily in civil litigation and estate matters, including estate law, estate administration, contract disputes, and property disputes. She completed her undergraduate studies at McGill University in Montreal and returned to Kingston to earn her law degree at Queen's University in 2007. She joined Nelson Law as an articling student in 2010 and stayed on after being called to the bar in 2011. In September 2019, she partnered with Lulama M. Kotze to open Nelson Kotze LLP. She also presides over Small Claims Court matters, having been appointed a Deputy Judge of the Small Claims Court in spring 2024, and belongs to the Law Society of Ontario and the Frontenac Law Association.
