Nelson Kotze LLP is a small, female owned law firm in Kingston, Ontario, serving Eastern Ontario in family law, estate planning and administration, and civil litigation. Katherine M. Nelson and Lulama M. Kotze opened the firm together in September 2019. Nelson began articling at Nelson Law in 2010, stayed on after being called to the bar in 2011, and practiced civil litigation and estate matters there; Kotze also articled and later worked as an associate at Nelson Law before the two partnered. Nelson holds a B.A. from McGill University and returned to Kingston in 2007 to complete a law degree at Queen's University, while Kotze holds a B.A. (Hons.) from the University of Guelph, a J.D. from Queen's University, and a certificate in international public law. In 2006, Kotze completed an internship as a case manager with a United Nations tribunal addressing the aftermath of the Rwandan genocide, working on matters involving war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The firm's practice covers wills, powers of attorney, guardianship, and elder abuse matters, will challenges and passing of accounts, family law files including custody and separation agreements, and civil litigation over contract and property disputes. In spring 2024, Nelson was appointed a Deputy Judge of the Ontario Small Claims Court. Kotze has served on the Kingston Bench and Bar Liaison Committee and chaired the Frontenac Law Association's family law section.
